Summary
On the planet of Taris, a Jedi Padawan named Zayne Carrick attempts to capture an arms dealer when his plan goes haywire and he almost kills himself. He is saved by a passing Jedi named Squint.
Squint is on his way to the Mandalorian battle front. He and several other Jedi are trying to recruit additional Jedi to aid in the fight. Zayne tells Squint that all the Jedi on Taris, including his Master Lucien, are against the war and feel the Jedi should stay out of it and be on guard for the Sith. Squint laughs it off as the Sith have been gone for thirty years.
Zayne tells him that he and a few of the other Padawans from the academy have a mission next week and he hopes to earn a promotion from it. Zayne, however, does not have high hopes at his chances.
Squint tells him that he senses that that Zaynes future may play a more important role than he may expect and to always be on guard.
Elsewhere Master Lucien and other Jedi are assembled. One Jedi, Q'Anilia, has a frightful vision of impending danger. Lucien vows that they will be ready for it. |
