He leads them into an ambush of droids, but reveals that he thought the ship was just supposed to appear to be sinking so everyone would leave and the ship could be stolen.

He threatens them with a core bomb and is killed by ship security.

-----

They question Madam Rhoden and her supposed personal trainer, but they are uncooperative (despite bringing a core bomb along as well).

Obi-Wan learns that Waverton, head of the loading dock, is working with pressure pirates to steal the ship. They take him to the bridge where they learn that a large amount of explosive in Madam Rhoden's room. As the evacuation begins, they attempt to recover the bomb only to find it missing.

Because the planet is outside the Republic they cannont arrest anyone involved. Obi-Wan isn't too pleased with this, but Qui-Gonn tells him that fate has a way of working things out. As they walk away, the ship explodes killing all the conspirators.

Comments

This two part series is a Jedi mystery hunt that more or less works. It tries to be smarting than it should be with double crosses and hidden bombs and so forth.

The teacher/student relationship was on full display here and it worked well for Qui-Gon and the seemingly very young Obi-Wan.

The artwork has a distinct style with a couple dazzling shots.
