Summary

A Republic/Separatist battle is raging on Brentaal IV. Master Shaak Ti is on the surface and Master Plo Koon is in orbit.

Shaak Ti and her troopers come to the aid of prisoners attacking Separtist guards. Inside she finds an old enemy, Lyshaa, as well as Jedi Quinlan Vos held there. Ti decides the survivors will help them in a mission.

They decide they must capture the leader, Shoggar Tok, take down a gun tower, or disable the shield generator if the battle is to be won. Jedi Agen Kolar provides distraction for them as they enter the fortress. Plo Koon will return in four hours to resume the attack.

Inside the sewers of the fortress, they are attack and a Wookie survivor is killed. They decide to split into three teams to tackle each objective.

Vos and one of the survivors, a former Republican Guard head to tackle the tower.

After avoiding a deadly lightstorm chamber, Shaak Ti and Lyshaa find Shoggar Tok, but Lyshaa betrays her and tells Tok the plan for a second attack. He alerts his men and the other teams under attack. Shaak Ti wakes up and begins to defend herself as the Republic ships begin their second attack.

One of the Clone Troopers manages to escape as well and finds his way to the shield generator and blows it up. The men who captured Vos found his decoy explosive, but not the real one and it destroys the gun turrets. Shaak Ti kills Tok, but Lyshha won't be taken alive and she throws herself back into the lightstorm chamber and dies.

Back in space, Shaak Ti and Plo Koon discuss the meaning of the entire war and meditate on how best to continue in the future

Comments

Very action packed issue. Many of the lesser used Jedi from the Prequels are all brought to life in this issue.

The fighting, particularly the early battle scenes really help paint what a bleak time this was for the Jedi. The theme of Jedi not necessarily pleased with their situation is continued on from the Mace Windu issue.

The artwork on this, particular the title character and the few shots of Plo Koon, really popped for me.
