Summary

On Coruscant, Moff Kadir disagrees with Darth Vader on troop placements. Moff Trachta cautions Kadir for his actions.

Before the Emperor leaves for the Death Star, he sends Vader on a mission to investigate a lightsaber wielding vigilante on Dargulli.

Moff Trachta has bred a special group of troopers that answer only to him. He tells several other Moffs that the time is now to overthrow the Emperor and kill Vader while he is on this mission.

While en route to Dargulli, Vader's Star Destroyer intercepts a Rebel transmission so they go to investigate.

Some of the Other Moffs begin to conspire against the power hunger Trachta.

-----

Vader's ship captures the Rebel freighter, but the ship is actually a trap and explodes once inside. They do, however, find the real Rebel ship and destroy it.

Trachta plans to stage a fake assassination attempt on the Emperor in order to have more of his personal troops placed in areas to make the real attempt. The other troops have already been placed on Vader's ship.

-----

The coup is underway on Coruscant with several Moff's ending up dead in the process. But the Royal Guard is up to the challenge once Kadir and his troops enter the throne room. Force lightening finishes the job.

On Dargulli, Vader goes out alone and runs into local street thugs that attempt to kill him.

-----

Word of the attack goes through Dargulli and others join the fight, including Boba Fett who sides with Vader.

The Emperor is pleased that Kadir would play a part in such a plan and agrees to keep him around to see the end of the plot.

Vader encounters the vigilante and learns that she drew him here to train her as a Sith! Vader kills her without a second thought. He returns to the ship and kills all the troops that were plotting against him. The Emperor watches via hologram and learns that Trachta, not Kadir planned the coup. The Emperor kills Kadir immediately.

Once Vader returns, he is sent in the Emperor's place to the Death Star.

Comments

Great stuff here. Vader and the Emperor at the height of their power. Not only do we get Vader in action, but we get a healthy dose of the Emperor unloading as well.

The two main storylines here merge seamlessly with Vader's trip and the Moff's coup attempt working well. The in fighting between the various Moffs was a welcome addition to the story. They don't even trust each other.

One complaint, Boba Fett. I like the character but sometimes he seems to be just thrown in there for attention. This is one of those times. Sure he has a nice part, but man, that guy gets around. Makes the galaxy seem a lot smaller in these cases.
